Crossing the Sands

‘Crossing the Sands’, 2024. Salt, Water, Glass Jars, Zinc, Copper, Crocodile-Clips and Speaker.

When Zinc and Copper is placed in salt water an electrical current is created. Showcasing the material capability of salt, this piece uses its power to play an archival recording of ‘ crossing the sand’ (North Lonsdale Magazine, 1866) describing the terrain in an unexpected journey across Morcombe bay.
