Fittings

Paradise works, Salford

‘Fittings’ brings together artists Anna Clough, Maisie Pritchard and Tanith Mab to present new work, at the end of their Haworth Trust residencies at Paradise Works.

The artists have worked in parallel to develop work for the show and, through this process, have found connections between their fascinations and practices: sharing an interest in playing, production and care. Shepherding rural, industrial and domestic furniture, they each utilise traditional craft to explore multiple timelines.

In different ways, the artists consider the way humans interact with their environment on a range of scales: from the immediate and gestural, to the long-term and existential. The works examine natural and manmade materials, and our human instinctive connections to them.

The show builds images for intuition to play with.

The Haworth Trust offers three annual awards to support talented contemporary visual artists developing ambitious new works and sustainable careers in Greater Manchester. The award offers a studio for a year at Paradise Works, with a package of mentoring support and a materials budget. This exhibition has also been made possible by funding from The Haworth Trust.
